A CALL TO THE
MARKETPLACE

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, ..." Matthew 28:19a
And MARKETPLACE is the heart of the nations

CHRIST CENTRED – IT IS HIS
A famous acrostic was made in Greek for the acclamation JESUS CHRIST, GOD'S SON, SAVIOUR (Greek: ??s??? ???st??, Te?? ????, S?t??; Iesous CHristos, THeou Yios, Soter — ch and th being each one letter in Greek). The initials spell ICHTHYS (??T?S), Greek for fish – hence the frequent use of the fish as a symbol for Jesus Christ from the early days of Christianity to the present time. The main imagery of the logo is FISH, to remind us that the centre of our ministry activities is JESUS CHRIST who is the head of this organisation / ministry.

A CALL TO EVANGELISM
We are called to follow Jesus who will make us fishers of men in the marketplace. (Mt 4:19) We are not called to fish in the others’ fish tanks, i.e. among the churches, but to go out to fish in the marketplace. The Sea of Galilee which represents the world marketplace is our largest mission field where most working adults spent most of their lifetimes.

GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES
With the big fish that represents Jesus Christ our Lord in the background, we are called to conform to His likeness. (Ro 8:29) The bigger fish is leading the smaller fish through training and discipleship to fulfil the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Mt 28: 19-20) Part of the ministry focus is to train and equip marketplace ministers to be fishers of men.

FULFIL THE CULTURAL MANDATE
A total of four fish in the Logo design to signify creation and cultural mandate that is the theological foundation of marketplace ministry. The number four is made up of three plus one and it marks God’s creative work follows the revelation of God in Trinity. Creation is therefore the next thing – the fourth thing, hence the number four is always has reference to all that is created. It is emphatically the number of creation, the number of material completeness (the fourth day of creation when all material creation finished, Ge 1:14-19). Cultural mandate (through marketplace ministry) is our call to rule over creation to give God all the glory. (Ge 2:15; 1Co 10:31)

GROW TOWARDS SPIRITUAL MATURITY
One fish tail going down signify we must decrease, and one fish tail going up signify God must increase. (Jn 3:30) The spiritual goal of all believers is to grow into maturity in Christ. We are called to live an abundant life like salt and light in the marketplace so that our light shine before men, that people in the marketplace may see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven. (Mt 5:16)
